Cellfield Reading Programme
Our Cellfield Reading Programme is a unique 10 day program using the science of the brains ability to change itself (neuroscience) to improve reading and or comprehension by 1- 2 years in only 10 days- 1 hour per day. School holidays are an ideal time to attend. This will be running 3rd August 2026 for 10 days, Monday to Friday.

A variety of exciting workshops are available this October half term, perfect for students of all ages and skill levels. Join Robin for engaging Chess workshops to learn new strategies or to have fun playing socially. Don’t miss the critical AQA English Language workshop with Nuzma, designed to help students in years 9, 10, and 11 excel in their exams. Younger learners can dive into sea-themed activities in the KS2 and KS1 workshops, fostering skills in reading, writing, and math. Year 4 and 5 students preparing for the 11+ exams will benefit from focused writing and preparation sessions, ensuring they are ready for their entrance tests. Lastly, explore coding with Lucy’s workshop for KS2, where kids can create their own underwater games.

New to chess, just know the basics or want to have some fun, social games? In this workshop Robin Slade, Brentwood School and Essex Junior Chess coach, will introduce students to chess, develop their ability to play and ignite a lifelong love of the game!

Love chess and want to learn new skills and strategies to improve? Then this workshops is the one for you. Set sail on an exciting sea themed workshop designed especially for Key Stage 2 children! Through fun, interactive activities inspired by the wonders of the ocean, children will build confidence and develop essential skills in reading, writing and Maths. Years 9-11 How to succeed in the AQA English Papers Workshop: Monday 26th October 2026: 12:30pm-3:30pm
English teacher and AQA English Language exam marker Nuzma will show students how to succeed in the AQA English Language papers through explaining the questions, unpicking the mark scheme and practising responses. Students will leave feeling confident about how to tackle each of the questions to ensure the maximum marks. Suitable for students in years 9, 10 and 11.

Join us for a fun filled sea themed workshop for Key Stage 1 children! Through exciting ocean adventures, children will develop their reading, writing and Maths skills while having lots of fun. Years 4&5 11+ Writing Success (CSSE & FSCE) Workshop: Wednesday 28th October 2026: 12:30pm-3:30pm
Teacher Lauren will lead year 4 and 5 students working towards their 11+ exam to writing success in this fun, interactive workshop. By the end of the three hours students will leave knowing all the key components to add to their writing to ensure it stands out amongst many and hits the top bands in the mark scheme. Students will get opportunities to practise their writing, sharing and refining this until it shows the best of their abilities.

Prepare with confidence for the FSCE entrance exam for Chelmsford County High School with our focused preparation workshop. Supporting students across all four FSCE papers — Adventure, Beacon, Compass and Discovery — this workshop develops essential skills through exam style activities, guided practice and effective strategies. Students will build confidence, strengthen problem solving skills and learn how to approach different question types with greater resilience and independence. A focused opportunity to prepare, practise and progress on the FSCE journey.

KS2 Secrets of the Sea Themed Coding Workshop: Friday 30th October 2026: 9:30am-12:30pm
Whether you’re a complete beginner or a budding programmer, set sail on an exciting sea-themed coding adventure designed for all levels. Children will develop their coding and programming skills as they explore the world beneath the waves, learning to design and debug algorithms while creating their very own underwater computer games using Scratch. From coding sea creatures to designing ocean adventures, this hands-on workshop encourages creativity, problem-solving and confidence in programming. Led by teacher Lucy and suitable for Key Stage 2 (Years 3–6).
