Essential Exam Practice and Preparation for 11 Plus students.
Mocks take place at Shenfield High School
– Arrival for a 9.30am start; the exam will finish by 12.15pm

– After a lunch break, you can book a separate evaluation session to take place at Key Tuition Brentwood Tuition Centre, Hutton Road, from 2-5pm

11+ Mocks Exams are a crucial part of the 11+ preparation for students looking to apply for private or Essex grammar schools, giving your child an opportunity to experience what it really will be like on the day of the exam. We will emulate the timings and conditions of the actual 11+ exams in order to help students to feel more comfortable and confident in this environment and therefore perform to the best of their abilities.
This year we are offering you the chance to book either the exam only or both the exam and the afternoon evaluation session. The exams take place at Shenfield School whereas the afternoon evaluation session will be in a smaller group at Key Tuition.
Everything will be marked on the day so that students can have the opportunity to go through the papers in the afternoon in a separate evaluation session with our expert 11+ specialist teachers. During this session the students can go through their errors and see how they lost marks. This is an important part of the process and they will be given evaluation sheets to fill in and take away which will clearly indicate the topics they need to work on for both English and Maths. We will also give the average results and high scores for both papers so that you will be able to see what your child’s results mean in relation the others who sat the exam.
Please note that papers will NOT be given to take home. This is because we have invested lots of time and effort into producing high quality papers and therefore wish to keep these for our own use to support our students.
If your child is a current Key Tuition student, their mock exam papers will go into their folder for their Key Tuition teacher to look at and inform their planning. If your child does not attend the centre and you wish them to go through the paper in greater detail you may book a one off session with an 11+ teacher at our centre.
Mock Exams 2026
We hold several mock exams throughout the year in both CSSE (entrance to KEGS, CRGS, Southend High & Westcliff High) & FSCE (entrance to CCHS).
The mock exams will take place at Shenfield High School, Alexander lane, Shenfield, Brentwood, Essex CM15 8RY. Please come in via the Alexander Lane Entrance (a map of the school is found at the bottom of this email).
The evaluation session will take place at Key Tuition Brentwood centre, 68 Hutton Road, Shenfield, Brentwood, Essex CM15 8NB. Please note this is bookable separately and we only have 10 spaces available.
Please arrive promptly for registration at 9:15 am. Due to the nature of this exam, if your child is late, we will not be able to give them any extra time.
Once the exam has finished, you will need to collect your child at 12:15. If you are also booking the evaluation session you will need to take them to Key Tuition centre after lunch for 13:50.
Our 11+ expert teacher will then run the evaluation session from 14:00 until 17:00 at Key Tuition centre.
